SCO Kunming and Issyk-Kul Marathons establish twin-city relations
Kyrgyz athletes and Director of the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic Kanat Amankulov took part in the 2019 SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) Kunming International Marathon, held in China.
The sporting event took place on Dec.1 in Kunming.
Kyrgyz athletes Joodarbek Kochkonbayev and Berdigul Aitpai uulu took the 10th and 14th places in the distance of 42 km.
Director of the State Agency for Youth Affairs Amankulov met with Kunming Deputy Mayor Zhou Hongbin.
The sides exchanged memorandums on the establishment of twin-city relations between the SCO Kunming Marathon (China) and SCO Issyk-Kul Marathon (Kyrgyzstan), as well as held talks on practical cooperation.
In addition, Kanat Amankulov met with SCO Secretary General Vladimir Norov, Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, Yunnan Provincial Governor, Kunming City Administration, and representatives of the Sports Department.
On May 11, the SCO Issyk-Kul Marathon was successfully held in Kyrgyzstan as part of the chairmanship of the country of the SCO. The race was attended by about 3,000 runners from 27 countries, where Darya Maslova, Adilet Kyshtakbekov, Yulia Andreyeva, Victoria Polyudina became the winners.
