by May 18, 2017 Legal

Minister of Education and Science Yerlan Sagadiyev announced the number of people with higher education in Kazakhstan, Russia and China.

In Russia, the share of the population with a higher education exceeds the share in Kazakhstan by a margin of the whole population of our country, that is 18 million more people with a higher education. And we are in the single economic space. 3 days ago we were in China there are 55 million school leavers, 8 million university graduates. And they intend to triple this number. In general, all countries aim at achieving the following mark: 50% of the able-bodied population with a higher education for the economy of our times. Today we have 34%, to put it in numbers we lack one million people, he said presenting the draft Law on expanding the autonomy of universities.

He believes that Kazakhstan, when competing with countries in the single economic space, can only rely on highly educated people. It is also important to create people who in a short time can retrain to radically different specialties. The Minister noted that, according to experts, a person with a higher education can create stable jobs.
