Bishkek, June 9, 2022 . /Kabar/. Russia is one of the main trade partners of Kyrgyzstan and ranks 1st by the volume of trade turnover, Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev said at the plenary session of the Ninth Russia-Kyrgyzstan Interregional Conference, the Kyrgyz Economy Ministry reported.

“Today the Kyrgyz Republic has strong ties with 81 subjects of the Russian Federation. More than 40 agreements, including those on cooperation in trade and economic, scientific and technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres, have been concluded. There are more than 10 agreements on establishment of twinning relations,” the economy minister of Kyrgyzstan noted.

Today, a number of agreements is planned to be signed within the Ninth Kyrgyz-Russian Interregional Conference.

“Despite the current situation in the world economy, Kyrgyzstan’s mutual trade relations with Russia are increasing every year. Russia’s share in Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover in 2021 was 31.6%, including exports – 24.9% and imports – 33.6%,” Amangeldiev added.

During the conference, it was noted that the event is an excellent platform for establishing and developing cooperation both between regions and between the business and academic communities of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
