Reps of Kyrgyzstan attend Int’l Book Fair in Doha
The Kyrgyz Republic is taking part in the 30th Doha International Book Fair, which is held these days (Jan.9 18, 2020) in the Qatari capital under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the State of Qatar, the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The Kyrgyz pavilion features books by the great writer Chyngyz Aitmatov, translated into foreign languages, including Arabic.
In addition, videos about Kyrgyzstan are permanently screened in the pavilion.
At the opening ceremony of the Book Exhibition, the Kyrgyz pavilion was visited by Speaker of the Majlis As Shura (Parliament) of Qatar Ahmad Bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud , Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, as well as heads of diplomatic missions, diplomats, writers, students and others.
DIBF is regarded as one of the largest international book fairs of the region with extensive participation from different countries around the world. It is a platform to exchange cultural diversity and a space to inspire dialogue and share knowledge.
The Fair is annually held under the patronage of Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
