Reps of Kazakhstan and Brazil discussed trade and economic relations

The Ambassador briefed the head of the Brazilian region on the main achievements of Kazakhstan over 25 years of independence, the key provisions of a special request of Nursultan Nazarbayev on the reauthorization of governmental departments, the priorities of the State of the Nation Address “Third modernization: global competitiveness”, designed to ensure Kazakhstan’s joining the top 30 developed countries.

R. Costa wished success in political and economic modernization, noted the importance of the new industries with digital technologies. He expressed interest in expanding economic cooperation with Kazakhstan, underlined the great importance for the Brazilian logistics complex “South Port”, currently under construction “Minerasau Bahia” in Bahia together with the regional government. The company is part of the mining giant – the Eurasian Group (ERG), developed in Brazil, a large deposit of “Pedra de Ferro” for the extraction of iron ore and further export through the port under construction.

The Governor noted that Brazil will use actively the port for the export of other products, in addition to minerals, and the Kazakh side to supply export products to the Latin American market through the port.

The Brazilian side also expressed readiness to send a business mission in Kazakhstan to find a counter-partners and discuss business opportunities.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan invited the governor to visit the forthcoming international specialized exhibition “EXPO-2017” in Astana.
