Representatives of world religions arrived in the capital
The 18th meeting of the secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions will be held in Nur Sultan, chaired by the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the head of the Secretariat Dariga Nazarbayeva. As a rule, this event provides an opportunity for participants and delegations to discuss organizational issues and compare hours.
Representatives of world religions from 19 countries will take part in the meeting. These are China, South Korea, Thailand, Russia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, the Vatican, Great Britain and many other countries. All representatives have already arrived in the capital.
On the agenda is the exchange of views on the results of the VI Congress and the prospect of the Secretariat. It is also expected that the dates of the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and the XIX meeting of the Secretariat will be determined.
Today, the Palace of Peace and Concord is in full swing preparing for the event. The main meeting of the participants will be held traditionally in the Atrium Hall. The organizers make the final touches of the preparation for the reception of guests: arrange chairs, check the sound, adjust the light.
Prayer rooms are specially provided for all representatives of world religions. For the convenience of obtaining information, a press center has been organized where you can get additional information, and there will be an opportunity to watch speakers’ live performances on-air.
According to the Chairman of the Board of the “Center N. Nazarbayev for the development of interfaith and inter-civilizational dialogue” Altai Abibullaev, it is the Kazakhstan model for promoting inter-religious, inter-traditional dialogue that is the unique flagship of Kazakhstan in ensuring peace and harmony, mutual understanding.
You know, Kazakhstan, through spiritual diplomacy, makes its active contribution to the establishment and development of a dialogue between leaders, representatives of various religions in the world, Altai Abibullayev said.
