As a result of March 2023, the public debt of Kyrgyzstan (external + internal) amounted to $5,623.14 billion (491,575.3 billion soms). The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan provided such data.

Including $4,511.09 billion (394,359.31 billion soms) is external debt, and $1,112.06 billion (97,215.99 billion soms) is internal one.

Over the month, the level of public debt grew by $24,24 million. At the same time, external debt increased by $16.72 million and the domestic debt — by $7.53 million.

Over a half of the external debt of the republic (51 percent) is multilateral loans — $2,300.37 billion. The country owes other $2,155.55 billion (47.8 percent of external debt) within the framework of bilateral concessional loans. At least 39 percent is the debt to the Export-Import Bank of China, which at the end of March 2023 amounted to $1,758.32 billion.
