PROSPECTS OF KAZAKH SPANISH RELATIONS DISCUSSED IN MADRID
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Spain Konstantin Zhigalov met with newly appointed Secretary of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain Cristina Gallach, Strategy2050.kz reports referring to the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry
The sides discussed a wide range of issues of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as key issues of the international agenda.
Steady progress was noted in the development of strategic partnership, as evidenced by a fruitful political dialogue, a dynamically growing volume of bilateral trade and an established mechanism of mutual support within international structures. The importance of continuing contacts at the highest levels was especially noted.
The parties emphasized the need to further expand the legal framework for cooperation and discussed the development of a number of intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements, which are currently being prepared for signing.
The Secretary of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan confirmed their readiness to effectively use such instruments as the Intergovernmental Kazakh Spanish Commission for Cooperation in the Field of Economics and Industry and the Kazakhstan Spain Business Council, which will be held in Madrid next year.
Gallach especially noted the role of Kazakhstan in the international community, in particular, its active work in the UN system and fruitful cooperation with the European Union. The parties emphasized the need to coordinate efforts to implement the Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU that entered into force on March 1.
