by February 16, 2017 Market

Almaty hosted the meeting on reviewing the work on introducing compulsory social medical insurance and outreach at all key directions of the Presidential Address, with the participation of the Minister of Healthcare Yelzhan Birtanov.

According to the Minister, at the legislative level it is proposed to increase the list of categories of persons for whom the state will pay for medical care: ambulance and sanitary aviation, medical care in socially important diseases (oncology, tuberculosis, diabetes etc.), emergency cases, as well as immunization.

We offer within the framework of the new bill to cover categories of people outside the labor force. These are people lacking legal, formal income, meaning people not registered as entrepreneurs or those who have income, but do not declare it or are dependent relatives. Under the current law, we guarantee free medical care and emergency assistance in socially significant diseases, such as tuberculosis, cancer etc., the Minister said.

This category includes non-working caregivers for a disabled child under 18 years; university graduates the state will provide for 3 months until they find employment. Also non-working oralmans, for the duration of a year from registration: foreigners and stateless persons, children, elderly, pregnant women, women caring for children etc. Today, there are serious prerequisites for implementing CSMI. First of all, it is the desire to ensure due medical care for the citizens of Kazakhstan, Yelzhan Birtanov said.
