Prime Minister tasks to further develop the main sectors of economy

At the Government meeting on Presidential Addresss implementation, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev gave a number of instructions on further development of logistics infrastructure, mining and agro-industrial complexes.

A day earlier, the Head of State N.Nazarbayev in an annual message outlined the main priorities of the countrys development in the near future.

According to the Prime Minister, the further development of mining and oil and gas complexes requires expanded geography of domestic products supply and active exploration. In this regard, the Energy Ministry is instructed to ensure the adoption of new code on mineral resources and the necessary amendments to the tax legislation.

The Prime Minister also mentioned the Presidents instruction to make the domestic agriculture a new driver of Kazakhstans economy.

We are ready to find our niche in the global food market producing organically grown food. Made in Kazakhstan brand itself should be associated with environmentally friendly products. We have already developed approaches for the new principle of subsidies distribution and creation of cooperatives using the potential of private farms, as well as increased productivity. This set of tasks should be implemented under the new state program for AIC development, B.Sagintayev said.

The Prime Minister also noted that the Head of State sets the task of developing a new Eurasian logistics infrastructure.

To do this, we must ensure freedom of transit goods, establishment and modernization of transport corridors that will allow us to become a transcontinental land hub between Asia and Europe. As a result, we have to increase by 2020 the volume of transit traffic seven times for containerized cargo, and four times for passenger traffic, B.Sagintayev noted.

In this regard, the ministries of investments and development, foreign affairs, national economy were instructed to take the necessary measures to solve the tasks.
