During the visit, Prime Minister inspected the plant producing switchboard equipment and heard a report on the company’s future plans.

Ural Transformer Plant was launched within the framework of IIDSP. It produces high power oil and dry transformers, and traction transformers with a production volume of 10,000 units per year.

In 2016, the transformer plant established a joint venture with foreign investors and signed a memorandum on producing electrical equipment, also creating over 100 workplaces.

In addition, Bakytzhan Sagintayev was presented the Batys Power, a gas turbine power plant built within the framework of the second five-year industrialization program.

The launch of the first stage of the gas turbine power plant was given by the President in 2015 during the nationwide teleconference “New Industrialization of Kazakhstan”. The launch of the first stage of the GTPP is of strategic importance for the region, since it completely eliminated the region’s energy dependence from importers. At the same time, in the long term it is planned to increase export volumes by selling electricity to the Russian Federation.
