Today UMP is one of the world’s most recognized producers of uranium and tantalum products. The enterprise is a part of the National Atomic Company KazAtomProm. The plant exports products to Russia, the United States, China, Japan, Germany, France, and Austria.

The company is engaged in the reprocessing of nuclear fuel, producing rare metals and semiconductor materials, extracting raw mineral materials for the chemical industry and the production of fertilizers, as well as other basic inorganic chemicals. To date, the plant’s production capacity by core products is 6 900 tonnes per year. Work is underway to further modernize the enterprise.

Ulba Metallurgical Plant, where new technologies are already being introduced and the state program of industrialization is being implemented, can become the basis of a new model of economic growth not only in the region, but in the country as well.

As a result of the visit to the production facility, a tripartite Memorandum on cooperation within the framework of socio-economic development of the region was signed by the EKR Akim D.
