Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev visits enterprises for petroleum coke calcining and manufacturing doped aluminum in SEZ Pavlodar

As part of his working visit to Pavlodar region, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev visited the Pavlodar special economic zone and inspected the implemented projects.

The priority type of activity of the SEZ Pavlodar is manufacturing in the chemical and petrochemical industries.

One of the projects implemented in the SEZ is UPNK-PV LLP, which is engaged in petroleum coke calcining for the needs of JSC Kazakhstan Electrolysis Plant. Director of UPNK-PV LLP N. Aubakirov reported that the company uses modern equipment and innovative technologies that improve productivity and product quality. Along with the domestic market, the possibility is being worked on for exporting products to the Russian Federation and China.

In addition, a new project for the production of doped aluminum by Gissenhaus LLP was implemented on the territory of SEZ Pavlodar. Director of the plant E. Shfets reported that the project capacity is 36 thousand tonnes of aluminum per year. The source of raw materials is primary aluminum, both in liquid form and in the form of castings of JSC Kazakhstan Electrolysis Plant.

The enterprise’s products will be sold on the domestic market and will cover the demand for high-tech aluminum products, export markets are also promising.

The project was implemented within the framework of measures to create a cluster of aluminum production facilities and will be the first in the history of metallurgy in Kazakhstan, where works of almost all aluminum production will be concentrated on one territory. This will allow the metallurgical industry to enter a new level of development.

To date, 27 participants have been registered in the SEZ Pavlodar, 5 projects for the amount of more than 43 billion tenge have been implemented, products amounting to more than 24.2 billion tenge have been manufactured, more than 1 thousand jobs have been created.
