Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev to take part in the work of the CIS CHG and the EAEU Intergovernmental Council in Kazan

Today Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev arrived in Kazan with a working visit to participate in the meetings of the CIS Council of the Heads of Governments and the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, scheduled for May 26.

The session of the CIS Council of the Heads of Governments will focus on cooperation in the field of innovation, ensuring transport security, using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, countering the production and distribution of counterfeit products, and protecting intellectual property.

The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will discuss the main directions for implementing the digital agenda of the Eurasian Economic Union, the plan of measures to eliminate exemptions and restrictions on the EAEU internal market, as well as the procedure for organizing joint research and development activities in the agro-industrial complex, and other issues.

Upon arrival in Kazan, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev visited a number of innovative facilities, including the IT Park and the Innopolis city of high technologies, and also got acquainted with the latest scientific developments of Kazan innovators.

During the visit to the IT Park, Bakytzhan Sagintayev got acquainted with the work of the business incubator and the Glonass + 112 monitoring center, he was also presented with a showcase of start-up projects. After that, the Prime Minister got acquainted with the activities of the special economic zone and the University of High Technologies “Innopolis”.

IT Park of Kazan, located on the territory of 30 thousand square meters, was founded in 2009 by the Ministry of Informatization and Communication of the Republic of Tatarstan. It hosts 143 residents representing 40 start-up projects.

SEZ “Innopolis” is located on two sites with a total area of 311.43 hectares. One hosts offices of innovative companies, research and development facilities. The second is intended for the production activities of resident companies.

Earlier, the Prime Minister made a working trip to the United States, where he held several meetings with large representatives of IT companies and visited the offices of leading innovative organizations.
