Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev meets with Speaker of the Singapore Parliament H. Yacob

Today at Ukimet Uyi Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting with Speaker of the Singapore Parliament Halimah Yacob.

The meeting discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in trade and economic areas and business support, as well as education and science.

In addition, the parties considered the prospects for concluding a Free Trade Agreement between Singapore and the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC), the results of the activities of the non-governmental and non-profit organization Kazakhstan-Asia-Pacific Chamber of Commerce and Investment, as well as Singapore’s participation in the work of the Astana International Financial Center and the exhibition EXPO-2017.

Singapore is not a member of the International Bureau of Exhibitions, but the leadership of Singapore decided to participate in the exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana. EXPO-2017 will be the 8th exhibition for Singapore after Vancouver (1986), Brisbane (1988), Sevilla (1992), Hanover (2000), Nagoya (2005), Shanghai (2010) and Yeosu (2012).

The slogan of Singapore’s pavilion is Small City – Big Ideas, which will present the country’s latest developments in the field of renewable energy.
