Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev meets with former President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso

Today at Ukimet Uyi Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting with former President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso on topical issues of developing the financial and investment sectors.

The meeting discussed issues of the EurAsEC development potential, as well as further development of Kazakhstan’s financial system in view of world trends. At the same time, the sides exchanged views on the prospects for further cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU within the framework of the Enhanced Partnership Agreement signed during the chairmanship of J.M. Barroso in the European Commission.

The Former President of the European Commission, Prime Minister of Portugal (2002-2004) Jose Manuel Barroso arrived in Kazakhstan to attend the Eurasian Media Forum, which is held in Astana on June 22-24.
