Prime Minister B. Sagintayev takes part in the Ministerial Conference “Ensuring Sustainable Energy Development”
In Astana, Bakytzhan Sagintayev took part in the Ministerial Conference “Ensuring Sustainable Energy Development”, which opened the Eighth International Energy Forum in the framework of EXPO-2017.
Welcoming the participants of the conference, Bakytzhan Sagintayev emphasized the importance of the fact that the meeting took place during the opening days of EXPO-2017, the theme of which is “Energy of the Future”. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan thanked all countries and international organizations that presented their innovative ideas and technologies for participation in the exhibition.
Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev emphasized the special role of the Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev in the formation of Kazakhstan as a dynamically developing state that adheres to the strategy of ensuring long-term and sustainable development of world energy.
B. Sagintayev noted that the Ministerial Conference and the Eighth Forum were held thanks to the support of five UN Regional Commissions. This work will result in strengthening long-term cooperation between all stakeholders in the energy sector. The provisions of the Declaration of the conference will be included in The EXPO-2017 Values Manifesto.
The main themes of the Eighth International Energy Forum for Sustainable Development and the Ministerial Conference “Ensuring Sustainable Energy Development” are: Energy Preparedness, Trade and Infrastructure, Interconnection of Energy, Climate and Food, and the Development of Renewable Energy in the Regional Context.
