Presidents of Kazakhstan and Iran discussed strengthening of trade and economic relations
“Among the Muslim countries Iran is the first country to recognize the independence of Kazakhstan. On 16 December we declared independence and on January 29 the diplomatic relations were established between two countries. Next year it will be 25 years old and this is an evidence of friendly relations between two countries. During this quarter century all the relations between two countries are developed dynamically. Tehran has always supported our political initiatives. Iran is our close neighbor and reliable partner. We have never severed ties even during the sanctions against Iran. We have carried out two rounds of negotiations on the nuclear program, and we have made a contribution to the solution of this issue”, Nursultan Nazarbayev has said.
According to the President, during the meeting with the leader of Iran they discussed the development of bilateral relations.
“The scope of the Kazakh-Iranian dialogue expands and becomes systemic. The talks were also focused on strengthening of economic and trade relations. Joint use and development of the huge potential of two countries and the logistics industry: the railway Kazakhstan – Turkmenistan – Iran has become an efficient transport and communications system in the region, it also provides the opportunity to enter countries of the Persian period and build a relationship with them. Work on the joint construction of logistics centers of grain and container terminals has been started”, the President of Kazakhstan has informed.
In addition, as the President has said today, the Iranian companies implement agricultural projects total cost of which is 480 million dollars. According to N. Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan is ready to export not only grain, but also other products such as sunflower oil, rice, oilseed rape.
