President of Uzbekistan proposes to create single tourist brand of Central Asia
It is necessary to form a single, recognizable tourist brand of Central Asia with attractive regional tourist products, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said during the Second Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian State in extended format.
Mirziyoyev noted one of the most promising areas of cooperation is the realization of the huge tourism potential of the region’s countries. He proposed to organize the Investment Forum of Central Asian countries in Tashkent, to hold annual meetings of heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
As the next important direction of, the Uzbek President noted the strengthening of transport interrelation and revealing the transit potential of the region.
It was noted that the transport system of Central Asia should, first of all, provide coordinated communications within the region, as well as effectively serve the increasing transit flows using the modern infrastructure being created.
The need to accelerate the establishment of a Regional Council on Transport Communications, coordination of the Program and the Agreement on Joint Development of the Transport System in Central Asia was stressed.
The third is the expansion of cooperation in the energy sector, taking into account the long-term interests of our region. Uzbekistan is ready to consider opportunities for implementing joint projects to create modern energy infrastructure in the region, paying special attention to increasing the share of renewable energy sources,” he said.
President Mirziyoyev also called for the development of coordinated approaches to solving water use problems on the basis of common long-term interests, and noted the importance of coordination of efforts of the region’s countries aimed at promoting peace, national harmony and economic recovery of Afghanistan.
The Second Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian State in Tashkent is being attended by Presidents of Kyrgyzstan-Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Tajikistan-Emomali Rahmon, Turkmenistan- Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, Uzbekistan- Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
