President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will take part in the European Union-Central Asia summit, which will be held in Kyrgyzstan on June 2, Asia-Plus was told by the presidential press service. The summit will also be attended by the leaders of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, as well as the deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan. The EU at the meeting will be represented by the President of the European Council Charles Michel. According to the source, a bilateral meeting between Emomali Rahmon and head of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov is planned on the sidelines of the summit. It is not specified what the presidents will discuss. The first meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and President of the European Council Charles Michel took place in Astana on October 27, 2022.
