President Jeenbekov meets with media leaders of country
President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with the heads of the Kyrgyz media and correspondents of foreign media accredited in the country.
An exchange of views took place at the meeting on pressing socio-political and socio-economic issues.
The head of state noted with satisfaction that at the first meeting in a similar format in March 2018, a productive, open dialogue took place, good suggestions were made on various issues.
He emphasized that the media contribute to the development of the country, to strengthening the transparency and efficiency of the public administration system.
Jeenbekov spoke about the priorities of his presidency. He dwelt in detail on the implementation of the state policy for regional development, digitalization of the country, judicial and legal reform, the fight against corruption, measures to improve the investment climate, and support the social sector and agriculture.
At the question and answer format, the participants raised questions regarding the implementation of judicial reform, public debt management, the role of civil society in implementing reforms, the electoral threshold in the upcoming parliamentary elections, the events of August 7�8, 2019, etc.
In addition, the president answered questions regarding cross-border issues, the country’s foreign policy, illegal developments in the capital, and spoke in detail about his plans for the near future.
At the meeting, which lasted more than two hours, the head of state managed to answer questions from 26 participants in the meeting.
