Population of Uzbekistan reaches 33.72 mln: State Statistics Committee
As of Oct.1 the population of Uzbekistan has made 33.72 million people, the State Committee on Statistics’ report on demographic situation said.
Since the beginning of the year, the number of population has increased by 469 thousand people, or 1.4%. The share of persons younger than the employment age is 30.5% of the population, of the working age – 59.1%, and older than the working age – 10.4%.
In the first nine months of 2019, 589.7 thousand children were registered, the birth rate per 1,000 population was 23.5 ppm, and increased by 1 ppm compared to the same period in 2018.
During this period, 112.2 thousand deaths were registered, the mortality rate was 4.5 ppm and decreased by 0.1 ppm compared to the same period last year.
Natural population growth has amounted to 477.5 thousand people and increased by 36.7 thousand compared to the same period in 2018.
The number of those who arrived, has amounted to 117.6 thousand people (internal – 115.6 thousand people, external – 2000 people), and the number of departures – 126.1 thousand people (internal – 115.6 thousand people, external – 10.5 thousand people). The migration balance has reached minus 8500 people, and in the same period last year this figure was 11.7 thousand.
The number of persons who has arrived in Uzbekistan for permanent residence has made 1,971, of whom 31.1 % came from Kazakhstan, 23.1 % from Tajikistan, 22.8 % from Russia, 13.3 % from Kyrgyzstan and 9.7 % from other countries.
10,500 people have left Uzbekistan for permanent residence, 57.4 % of whom went to Kazakhstan, 37.3 % to Russia, 0.9 % to the United States, 0.8 % to Israel and 3.6 % to other countries.
