Policy of strengthening economic diplomacy became priority for MFA of Kazakhstan
“Strengthening economic diplomacy is the paramount task of the whole system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign institutions of Kazakhstan. An important practical step was the signing of a joint plan with the Ministry for Investments and Development to promote the export of Kazakhstan’s products, where target countries, list of commodity items, work on the presentation of Kazakhstan’s products abroad were fixed. The signing of a similar document on attracting investments is also on the way, and a joint plan is being implemented between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture”, – K. Abdrakhmanov noted.
The Minister drew particular attention to the need of the accelerated practical implementation of the tasks set by the Head of State to restructure the work of the MFA for the further development of economic diplomacy.
“This, first of all, concerns attraction of foreign investments and promotion of domestic goods for export, strengthening of personnel potential, proactive work to protect Kazakhstan’s interests on the international arena”, – the Minister noted.
On board the main results of the Ministry’s activities in key areas of economic diplomacy in the past year were summarized. In particular, the participants of the event were informed about the work being carried out jointly with the economic block of the Government on elaborating mechanisms for interaction in the investment and export sectors, strengthening the activities of 115 intergovernmental commissions and 24 business councils with other countries, preparing and monitoring the implementation of agreements between Kazakhstan’s and foreign business communities, achieved in the framework of foreign visits of the Head of State, as well as work carried out through cooperation with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the World Trade Organization, and the formation of the national system of official development assistance.
