PM MAMIN MET WITH EBRD PRESIDENT SUMA CHAKRABARTI
Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin has received President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti to discuss implementation of joint projects in Kazakhstan, Strategy2050.kz reports.
Over the past 27 years, EBRD’s investment in Kazakhstan has exceeded $9 billion in 271 projects in financial, infrastructure, energy, agricultural sectors, IT technology and utilities sectors, as well as supporting small and medium sized businesses, Mamin said.
In 2019, agreements were signed on implementation of 29 projects worth over $750 million in industrial, transport, energy, agricultural, financial and other sectors of Kazakhstan.
The sides discussed the upcoming participation of the EBRD in the implementation of the Comprehensive Program for Modernization of Healthcare Infrastructure in Kazakhstan. In particular, the EBRD is going to participate in financing the construction of new multidisciplinary hospitals in the cities of Kyzylorda, Kostanay, Taraz, Atyrau, Kokshetau, Pavlodar, Almaty.
Mamin and Chakrabarti considered the implementation of the largest public private partnership project in Kazakhstan the construction of the Big Almaty Ring Road.
Much attention was also paid to public private partnership projects in the areas of housing and communal services, transport infrastructure, renewable energy sources, etc.
