Photo exhibition on Kazakhstan’s achievements during independence held in Brazil

In Brazilia city “Villa Rizza” hall hosted a reception dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan.

The event was attended by the deputies of the National Congress, the employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government agencies of Brazil, the heads of the Brazilian companies, the heads of the diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Brazil, the representatives of the academia and the media, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported.

In his opening speech, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil Kairat Sarzhanov noted the landmark political and economic achievements of Kazakhstan during the years of independence, foreign policy initiatives and achievements of the country in the international arena, reforms conducted in the country to enter the top 30 developed countries.

The Ambassador stressed that all the achievements of Kazakhstan are inextricably linked with the personality and work of Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev. The particular attention was focused on the development of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Brazil. Despite the considerable geographical distance, the countries established friendly and partnership relations.

The Ambassador noted an agreement on visa-free regime of citizens of both countries, the opening of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Kazakhstan, the confirmation of the participation of Brazil in the international specialized exhibition “EXPO-2017” and the World Winter Universiade-2017, the successful participation of Kazakhstani sportsmen in summer Olympic and Paralympic games in Rio de Janeiro and expressed hope for intensification of bilateral interaction. The speech of the head of the Kazakh foreign institution was accompanied by a presentation which clearly presented the main achievements of Kazakhstan during the years of independence.

Head of the Central and South Asia and Oceania Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil Ari Kintella made a congratulatory speech. He pointed out that Brazil is watching with admiration the growth of the authority of independent Kazakhstan in the international arena.

With great pride he stressed that Brazil is one of the first countries to recognize the independence of Kazakhstan. Striking confirmation of Kazakhstan’s recognition in the world community was the election of its as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for 2017 – 2018.

Noting the importance of the exchange of bilateral visits, A. Kintella said that Brazil intends to take an active part in the international specialized exhibition “EXPO-2017”. He expressed hope for further development of Kazakh-Brazilian cooperation in order to realize the potential of existing capacity, the maintenance and expansion of partnership relations between the societies and peoples of two countries.

During the event, the guests were presented a photo exhibition about the main achievements of Kazakhstan for 25 years of independence, prepared by the National Museum of Kazakhstan and translated into Portuguese by the Embassy. Throughout the event there was a show of promo videos about Kazakhstan, its achievements, multicultural face of the country, “EXPO-2017”, the Universiade-2017.
