Philippines Looks Forward to Receiving Hungary Foreign Minister, Re-Opening of Hungarian Embassy in Manila

Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto R. Yasay, Jr. met with Hungarian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto at the sidelines of the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly to explore ways to advance bilateral cooperation.

Secretary Yasay expressed that he looked forward to receiving Minister Szijjarto in the Philippines on an official visit, and to the re-opening of the Hungarian Embassy in Manila.

The foreign ministers also discussed strengthening bilateral trade relations through the early conclusion of an economic cooperation agreement and the signing of the Philippines-European Union Free Trade Agreement, and increasing people-to-people exchanges especially among the youth of the two countries.
