Pensions to be increased by 20% in Kazakhstan in 2017 – President

“In order to mark the 25th anniversary of independence, I instruct the government to increase pensions by 20%. This will cover 2 million 200 thousand Kazakhstanis. Also I instruct to increase the size of state childbirth aid by 20% since July 1, 2017. We now have a very high birth rate – an increase of 55%”, – said the President.

Over 25 years social expenditures of the country rose to 4.8 trillion tenge, 180 thousand times – 46% of the country’s budget.

Recall, Astana holds a solemn meeting on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence. The Parliament deputies, holders of state awards, representatives of the Assembly of Peoples of Kazakhstan, science, education, medicine, sport and creative intellectuals, leaders of religious associations, regional delegates from six regions of the country gathered here.
