Peacekeeping exercises “Steppe Eagle-2017” hold in Kazakhstan
During the exercises, the Kazakhstan peacekeepers in conjunction with the US and the British servicemen, work out the patrolling of the zone of responsibility, control of transport highways through the installation of roadblocks, control of crowd and conduct of negotiations, protection of peacekeeping base, convoy and escort individuals and humanitarian supplies, neutralization of mined areas and providing first aid.
With the military personnel theoretical and practical training under the guidance of experienced Kazakhstan, American and British instructors is conducted.
For the quality of all planned events the necessary infrastructure has been created. Within the training center peacekeeping bases and refugee simulation camps have been deployed.
The drills “Steppe Eagle” have been held since 2003. By this joint practice, servicemen of the Kazakh peacekeeping battalion have the opportunity to improve their level of training. The main phase of the exercises will be held in the period from July 22 to August 4, also in the territory of Iliisk test site. As a result, experts from NATO countries will assess the participation of the Kazakhstan peacekeeping battalion “Kazbat” in peacekeeping missions.
