Over 33.7 thousand ethnic Kazakhs returned to Kazakhstan in 2016

“65.5% of immigrants arrived from Uzbekistan, 24.9% are from China, 3.2% – from Turkmenistan, 2.7% – from Mongolia, 3.7% – from other countries,” stated in the Ministry labor and social protection of Kazakhstan.

“65.4% of them are of working age, 28.6% – children under 16 years of age, 6% – pensioners. Among ethnic Kazakhs working age 10.8% have higher education, 20.3% – secondary special education, 65% – secondary education, 3.9% have no education,” said the Ministry.

It should be reminded that in order to encourage the return of ethnic Kazakhs to their historical homeland Law “On introducing amendments and addenda to some legislative acts of Kazakhstan on the issues of migration and employment ‘provides:

provision of ethnic Kazakhs with the status of oralman, regardless of the settlement of the region. Ethnic Kazakhs in contrast to the foreign nationals will be able to obtain a residence permit by applying to the Migration Police, without confirmation of the solvency;

ethnic Kazakhs receive social benefits in the case of settlement in the regions identified by the Government of Kazakhstan with the establishment of the quota of repatriates reception. This social support can also get oralman if he moved from any region of the country in the regions identified by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan for resettlement.
