In Kyrgyzstan, more than 25 thousand citizens received free legal aid since the beginning of the year, Akzhol Kalbekov, the Director of the Center for Coordination of State-Guaranteed Legal Aid (SGLA) told during a press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He said the Center provides free legal assistance all year round.
The right to receive legal advice and assistance is granted to:
– citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic;
– foreign citizens;
– stateless persons;
– refugees.
“Thus, according to statistics, about 25 thousand citizens applied for free legal assistance since the beginning of the year. In turn, 9 thousand citizens received qualified free legal assistance (secondary assistance),” he said.
In conclusion, Akzhol Kalbekov noted that in 60% of cases where free legal assistance is used, the cases are solved positively. Since the beginning of the year 14 citizens have already been acquitted.
