OSCE Representative to participate in training of Kazakhstani prosecutors

Opening the meeting, U.Baizhanov noted that the OSCE for four decades has been making a significant contribution to the strengthening of the security architecture in the world, contributing to the unification of the country in the development of adequate responses to modern challenges.

According to General Prosecutor’s office, in this context the support of the Academy’s initiatives to establish a Regional hub is a symbol of commitment to the fundamental OSCE security principles. In this connection, the Rector of the Academy thanked the representative of the international organization for assistance in advancing the project.

During the visit to Kazakhstan Andrei Muntean is expected to participate in the courses for employees who are in the President’s reserve. In this regard, U.Baizhanov expressed gratitude to the foreign guest for his willingness to share the best practices in the fight against crime.

The sides discussed the implementation of the agreements reached earlier, the priority areas of bilateral cooperation for 2017 sharing a vision of further cooperation in the implementation of joint projects.

U.Baizhanov informed the guest about the completion of several intermediate stages of the work on the creation of the hub, acquainted with the tasks for the coming period suggesting qualitatively new approaches to strengthen linkages.

“In the near future the Academy plans to sign a memorandum with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime on understanding to establish a hub and proceed directly to the training of specialists for the Central Asian states in the region”, the rector of the Academy stated.

The representatives of the international organization praised the level of cooperation, highlighting the contribution of the Academy in the effective use of scientific and educational spheres, as a tool to solve the global and regional problems.

The meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, and allowed to consolidate the positive trend of establishing partnerships between the Academy and the OSCE.
