Organizers name the jury members of Kazakhstan’s first national journalism award
Organizers of the first national award in the field of print, radio, Internet journalism “Urker” announced the panel of expert judges.
In particular, they are the Director of Journalism Study Institute under L. N. Gumilev ENU professor Namazaly Omashev, state and public figure Myrzatai Zholdasbekov, dean of the ENU faculty of journalism and political science Kairat Sak, Chairman of the Kazakhstan-2050 National Movement Council Mukhtar Mankeyev, Director of the Analysis and Strategic Planning Center under the Nur Otan party Yulia Kuchinskaya, Director of RGA Koghamdyk Kelisim Alexander Tarakov, head of the Regional Media Alliance Alibek Aldeney, political scientist Rasul Zhumaly, public figure Murat Abenov, head of the Farmes.kz portal under the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Meiramkhan Zhapek, literary critic Amangeldy Myrzabekov.
Recall, the deadline for applications was extended until June 10, 2017. They are accepted via the website urker-2017.el.kz. The award prize pool is 15 million tenge. Each winner in 15 nominations will receive 1 million.
Meanwhile, the organizers received 300 applications since May 7. At the same time, as was reported today at the press conference in CCS by Chairman of the Board of Kazcontent JSC Yevgeny Kochetov, the leading nominations in terms of received applications are “Best Interview”, “Best Analytical Material” and “Best Reportage”. It is noteworthy that there are a small number of applicants in nominations “Debut in journalism”, “Best National printed press”, “Best magazine of the year”, “Best regional printed press “, “Kaznet Media break”.
300 works � that’s not a small number. But we want more. Perhaps, it would be more difficult for the jury, but I think they can handle it. This will be the first step in getting 1000 applications next year, maybe more. We want to make this competition popular and prestigious, � Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Alan Azhibayev noted in turn.
Recall, the solemn award ceremony will symbolically be held on June 28, the day of the professional holiday of communication and information workers. The ceremony will be of a slightly different format than the Tumar award ceremony, but just as interesting and spectacular. You are in for big surprises, � Alan Azhibayev explained.
The organizer of the award is Kazcontent JSC. The founder of the award is the Ministry of Information and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
