First President of Kazakhstan Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with Mayor of Almaty Bakytzhan Sagintayev, reports referring to

The Mayor reported Elbasy on the main socio economic indicators of city’s development in January 2020 and prospects for their further growth.

In addition, Sagintayev informed Nazarbayev about implementation of the state and industry programs in the sphere of development of production, construction, support for small and medium sized businesses, as well as attracting investments.

So, according to the Mayor of Almaty, the volume of investments in January 2020 exceeded 43.2 billion tenge. The growth compared to January last year amounted to 22%. Retail sales increased by 7.5%. It was noted that in the first month this year, 84.4 thousand square meters of housing were commissioned in the city, which is 6.7% more than last year’s January figures.

Elbasy noted the importance of the work carried out by the city authorities.

Last year ended with solid performance. Almaty is the largest metropolis in Kazakhstan. I know that there are many problems in the city. But they have always been. These are issues of ecology, transport, development of small and medium sized businesses, migration and employment of the population. These problems have been known to us for a long time. It is important to solve them on a systematic basis, Nazarbayev said.

The First President of Kazakhstan also drew attention to the need to provide the growing population of the city with social facilities hospitals, schools, kindergartens.
