NC KTZh implements Digital Railway program in five directions

Vice President on Information Technologies of KTZh NC, Arman Nurushev, reported on the implementation of the Digital Railway industry program in the field of cargo, passenger, multimodal transportation and projects implemented at railway infrastructure facilities, as well as in the field of corporate tasks.

“The Digital Railway strategy includes digitalization of the Company’s business model and introduction of new technologies into all key operating segments � freight and passenger transportation, infrastructure and transport logistics,” the Vice President said.

A.Nurushev dwelled on projects of digitalization in passenger transportations where there is an aim of increasing client-orientation. The system of sales of electronic tickets was implemented. It is planned to introduce dynamic tariff management and centralized management of customer requests 24/7.

At the facilities of the railway, infrastructure projects are being implemented on the adoption of digital rail tracks diagnostics, the Center for Rail Train Traffic Control and Digital Services at 17 stations.

“Digitalization of the transport and logistics complex will ensure transparency in the organization of transportation, increase efficiency and reduce operating costs,” the Vice President said.

Executive Director for integrated planning of KTZH-Cargo Transportation JSC, Vladimir Petrov, informed about the introduction and operation of information systems in the cargo movement, aimed at increasing efficiency in the transportation process organization.

According to V. Petrov, automation is aimed at operational management of transportation, integrated processing of routes, planning and forecasting the movement of train-car flows, control of fuel and electricity consumption by locomotives.

One of the successfully functioning systems in the cargo economy of KTZh systems is AMS Contractual and Commercial Work. Here, the principle of a “single electronic window” is applied in the planning, organization and implementation of transportation, electronic payment for services related to the transport of goods.

“Shippers can plan transportation by submitting an application, issue a transportation document, calculate the preliminary tariff for transportation via the Internet through the automated control system AMC CCW. Currently, more than 20 thousand customers and more than 5 thousand employees of freight stations are registered and working in the system,” V.Petrov said.

The processes of digitalization will affect the scope of corporate tasks. Head of the Integrated Planning System of the KTZh branch � “Business Transformation Center,” Madiyar Sultanbek, told about the final results of the implementation of the planning system with the elements of Machine Learning. It will allow optimal allocation of the resources; make effective decisions in operational, commercial and investment planning. By 2021, the optimization of costs associated with the transportation process by 3-4% is forecasted.

During the briefing, the speakers answered questions from journalists regarding the further digitization of production processes, transport logistics, supply chains, improvement of electronic ticketing technology, and the activities of the railway station.
