Nazarbayev: Turkey is an important investment partner of Kazakhstan
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in the Third Meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Kazakhstan and Turkey in Ankara, Akorda reported.
Addressing the meeting participants, the President of Kazakhstan elaborated on the current issues of bilateral cooperation.
“Relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey develop in the spirit of strategic partnership, an important component of which is trade and economic cooperation”, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
The Head of State stressed that Turkey is one of the important investment partners of Kazakhstan.
The President of Kazakhstan dwelled on concrete measures to further strengthen bilateral ties.
In particular, Nursultan Nazarbayev pointed to the need for effective use of the opportunities of the intergovernmental commission between Kazakhstan and Turkey in resolving issues of mutual cooperation.
In addition, the Head of State noted the results of the joint “New Synergy” program and talked about the prospects for the development of the investment partnership.
“Today, Kazakhstan is upgrading the transport infrastructure in the framework of the Nurly Zhol program. As a result of its implementation, we plan to become the leading logistics hub in Central Asia. In this regard, we need to effectively use the transit potential of our countries”, the President of Kazakhstan said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev also focused on strengthening relations in the oil and gas and military industries.
At the same time, the Head of State especially emphasized the importance of establishing productive ties in the agro-industrial complex, tourism and scientific and technical spheres.
During the meeting of the Council, special attention was also paid to the issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
