Nazarbayev: Kazakhstan-Japan coop is very active

The Head of State noted that the Parliamentary League of Friendship with Kazakhstan is making an invaluable contribution to the strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two nations.

The President of Kazakhstan expressed gratitude for the support and the efforts exerted for the development of cooperation.

“You have supported our bid to host the EXPO-2017, our joint work on nuclear disarmament”, – said Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The Head of State drew attention to the intensification of Kazakh-Japanese cooperation in all areas.

“We celebrate the 25th anniversary of Independence, it is a very short period of time. I believe that during this period we have achieved considerable success. It is important to develop relations with Japan. We – Asian countries, have a common destiny”, – said the President of Kazakhstan.

T. Kawamura, in turn, thanked Nursultan Nazarbayev for the meeting.

“Next year the diplomatic relations between Japan and Kazakhstan reach 25 years. We would like to use these events to activate the inter-parliamentary exchange”, – said Chairman of the Japanese Parliamentary League of Friendship with the Republic of Kazakhstan.

T. Kawamura also congratulated our country on the election as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2017-2018 years, noting that Kazakhstan will be able to make greater contributions to the cause of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.

In this regard, the Head of State stressed that he had previously submitted a Manifesto “The World. The XXI Century”, and called on the UN General Assembly to achieve the goal of building by 2045 a world free of nuclear weapons and expressed hope for assistance to these initiatives.
