Mirziyoyev, Nazarbayev meet in Tashkent

On the margins of the Second Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian States in Tashkent, Uzbek leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with first President of Kazakhstan, Elbasy (Leader of Nation) Nursultan Nazarbayev.

At the beginning of the conversation, President Mirziyoyev sincerely welcomed Nursultan Nazarbayev to Uzbekistan, and once again expressed gratitude for the support provided to the initiative of Uzbekistan to hold a meeting of leaders of the region.

It was noted that the traditionally close relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have been brought to a qualitatively new level by joint efforts in recent years, filled with concrete practical content.

In turn, Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed holding of the Consultative Meetings of Heads of Central Asian States at the initiative of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the first of which was held in 2018 in Astana (now – Nur-Sultan), contributes to the further strengthening of multifaceted cooperation in the region and is an effective platform for promoting specific projects of cooperation.

At the meeting, the leaders exchanged views on topical issues of bilateral relations, global and regional agenda.

Presidents of Kyrgyzstan-Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Tajikistan-Emomali Rahmon, Turkmenistan- Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, Uzbekistan- Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev are taking part in the Second Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian States.
