Ministry of National Economy proposes to revise sectoral laws for the further development of competitive environment in the economy
Minister of National Economy Kuandyk Bishimbayev briefed at the Government meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev on the measures proposed for the development of competition in Kazakhstan.
The Minister noted that Kazakhstan antitrust legislation complies with OECD standards, but the level of competition is still low.
According to the Minister, the reason for this lies in the rules of sectoral legislation, which often runs counter to the basic principles of competition. As a result, there are administrative, economic and technical barriers for the development of competition.
It is therefore proposed to revise the sectoral laws to exclude the rules and regulations that are contrary to the principles of competition and to ensure regulatory transparency.
