Ministry of Investments and Development announces the expansion of Kazakhstan’s transport and logistics potential in the framework of the Plan of the Nation
By implementing the “100 concrete steps” Plan of the Nation Kazakhstan has significantly expanded its transport and logistics potential. This was announced by First Deputy Minister of Investments and Development Alik Aydarbayev during a briefing in the Government press center.
The Deputy Minister reported that in order to create an international aviation hub near Almaty, in the framework of implementing the Plan of the Nation, the Head of State appointed MG Holding as project operator, which is engaged in attracting investments in the project from Singapore.
In addition, Air Astana is actively developing, which has a fleet of 31 aircraft with average age of 6-8 years.
Delivery of 10 Airbus A320neo aircraft is expected by the end of the year. In 2019 – two Boeing 787 aircraft. In addition, KTZ together with Air Astana is working to create a cargo airline, A. Aydarbayev said.
He also said that to ensure transport accessibility of the IFC Astana, direct flights are currently being carried out from Astana to Frankfurt, London, Dubai, Seoul, Beijing, Paris. In 2017, nine new international air routes were opened from Astana to Delhi, Warsaw, Helsinki, Budapest, Beijing, Yerevan, Kiev, Batumi and Mineralnye Vody. In 2019, it is planned to open communications with Tokyo, and Singapore, and in 2020 with Shanghai and New York.
