Ministry of Information and Communications: High-speed Internet will arrive in the countryside within 3 years
The Ministry of Information and Communications is launching a project to provide the Kazakhstani countryside with high-speed Internet. This was stated by the Minister of Information and Communications Dauren Abayev at a press conference following the Government meeting.
There is a digital divide between the city and the countryside. The city receives high-quality public services because of high-speed Internet, and rural settlements lag behind in this regard, the Minister said.
Within the framework of the 3-year project, it is planned to provide high-quality, high-speed Internet to about 1900 settlements with a population of about 4 million inhabitants. Country dwellers will be able to receive all services of the Electronic Government, and delivery of the ready documents will be provided through “Kazpost”.
