Ministry of Healthcare: Operation of the Social Medical Insurance Fund to improve the quality of rendered services
During today’s briefing at the Government press center, Deputy Minister of Healthcare Lyazzat Aktayeva spoke about the ongoing activities of the Social Medical Insurance Fund and future plans for improving its operation.
She said that currently the Fund is functioning, branches are established, managers are appointed, deductions from employers and contributions from individual entrepreneurs are being received.
Altogether, the regulatory framework is being improved, it is necessary to adopt 31 regulatory legal acts to implement the adopted law. Accordingly, further work is being done to improve tariff setting and healthcare infrastructure. We must understand that the Fund is not only an operator, but also a strategic buyer, that is, it forms a competitive environment for medical organizations, therefore, further improvement of the quality of service provision is very important, Lyazzat Aktayeva said.
She also said that a decision was made that the Social Medical Insurance Fund will become a shareholder of SK-Pharmacy LLP, and KazMedTech JSC is under consideration to be privatized.
SK-Pharmacy LLP is a sole distributor for procurement and provision of medicines for the population within the guaranteed volume of free medical care through consolidation of public procurement. Beginning 2011, SK-Pharmacy also organizes procurement of medical equipment purchased at the expense of the National budget.
KazMedTech JSC is a state socially-oriented company engaged in leasing medical equipment, as well as equipping state and private healthcare organizations with modern medical equipment, guaranteeing service for the entire term of leasing.
