Ministry of Culture: The historical monograph “Keiki Batyr” to be released later this year
This year will see the release of the historical monograph, dedicated to the leader of the National Liberation Movement rebel army in 1916 Keiki Batyr. This was reported by the Minister of Culture and Sport Arystanbek Mukhamediuly.
A historic event for the state and national history was the transfer of the remains of Keiki Batyr, leader of the national liberation movement in 1916, which for a whole century were kept at the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography of the Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg. This is the result of successful negotiations between the governments of Russia and Kazakhstan, A. Mukhamediuly reminded at the board meeting in Astana.
Today, according to the Minister, the scientific work on recreating the image and sculptural reconstruction of Keiki Batyr is almost done; the place of his burial is defined.
To promote his heroic image, last year saw the release of 2 thousand copies of the book Kulannyn Azhaly written by Akhan Nurmanov. I am confident that Keiki Batyr’s story will continue to be actively broadcast, including through creating a vivid artistic image in movies, the Minister said.
