Minister of Agriculture discusses the prospects of agricultural science development with university professors
Today the S.Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University was visited by the Minister of Agriculture Askar Myrzakhmetov.
The President in his Presidential Address instructed the Ministry of Agriculture with increasing the volume of investments into agricultural research, which would be demand by production.
During his familiarization with the activity of the institution, A. Myrzakhmetov discussed perspectives of agricultural science development in Kazakhstan with the faculty and students of the University.
Also during his visit the Deputy Prime Minister was shown the Tractor Pavilion of the Kazakh-Belarusian center for training and retraining of the engineering staff and the Kazakh-German center of precision farming, combine harvester laboratories, mechanization of forage preparation and agro-engineering, and also a training and pilot meat and milk processing plant.
The distinguished guests attended classes of a polylingual group, viewed online the discussion with KazATU students, studying in the Belarusian State Agrarian Technical University within the framework of the Kazakh-Belarusian center. These talks and lectures are held regularly in specially equipped classrooms and provide a mutual exchange of knowledge between universities.
Chairman of the Board A. Kuryshbayev reported on the results of joint work on transforming KazATU into a modern research agrarian university and scientific achievements of the faculty. In particular, he noted that the university cooperates with the University of California in Davis (USA), world leading research institute in the field of agriculture. Davis already has successful experience reforming agrarian education in Chile, Malaysia, China and other countries. Now its leading professors work in Kazakhstan and support KazATU in reforming university management, educational and research activities.
