Minister Amangeldiev takes part in talks of World Bank on regional development
Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev, head of the official delegation from Kyrgyzstan, participated in online talks with the World Bank on the implementation of the Regional Economic Development – 2 project.
The press service of the Economy Ministry reported that the negotiations were also attended by members of the official delegation – Deputy Minister of Finance Ruslan Tatikov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Azamat Mukashev, Presidential Envoy in Batken Oblast Abdirkarim Alimbayev, mayors of Batken, Kadamjay, Isfana towns and others.
Minister Amangeldiev noted that the Kyrgyz Republic has attached great importance to regional development in recent years. The project is very important for the development of Batken Oblast. . The choice of this region is relevant and timely.
This project will support the implementation of national programs and policies of the Cabinet of Ministers aimed at regional development. This is already the second project supported by the World Bank aimed at regional development.
“A similar project has already begun to be implemented in Osh Oblast. The peculiarity of these projects is that they are comprehensive in nature. The project covers important and different areas of socio-economic development of the regions,” the economy minister said.
Daniyar Amangeldiev took the opportunity to express gratitude to the World Bank team, ARIS, as well as all those who were directly involved in the preparation of the project.
The negotiations will last for 2 days (Jan. 26-27, 2022). As a result, a protocol will be signed on allocation of USD 50 million for implementation of the Regional Economic Development – 2 project.
