MAZHILIS SPEAKER NURLAN NIGMATULIN ARRIVES IN EASTERN KAZAKHSTAN ON A WORKING TRIP
The Chairman of the Mazhilis, Nurlan Nigmatulin, has arrived in Eastern Kazakhstan as part of the deputies’ trip of the regions. The Mazhilis Speaker began the meetings planned in the region with a visit to the small homeland of Abai Qunanbaiuly, whose 175th anniversary is celebrated in the country this year, the Senate press service informs.
In the city of Semey, Nurlan Nigmatulin has visited the State Historical, Cultural and Literary Memorial Reserve-Museum Zhidebay-Borili which studies the life and work of the great Kazakh enlightener, thinker and poet, as well as archival documents and exhibits.
Noting that the legacy of the great Abai is the property of the people of Kazakhstan, the Chairman of the Mazhilis pointed out the contribution of the founder of Kazakh written literature to the spiritual development of Kazakh society. Nurlan Nigmatulin recalled the great attention paid by First President of Kazakhstan, Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev and Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the promotion of the great works of Abai.
The Mazhilis Chairman has focused on the importance of the tasks that the Kazakh President set in his article Abai and 21st-century Kazakhstan on the poet’s creativity and socio-economic development of Semey so as to mark the 175th anniversary of the world-famous public figure at a high level and contribute to the country’s historical and cultural heritage.
