M. Gorky Theatre Has Presented More Than 150 Premieres Over the Years of Independence
By the 25th anniversary of Independence, M. Gorky State Academic Russian Drama Theatre has opened an exhibition of the landmark events of its life, including its obtaining the status of academic theater, handing the keys to the apartments to actors, as well as the recognition by the people. Over the past 25 years, the theater has brought together over 2 million spectators at its performances.
Over the years of independence, the theater has been shown more than 150 premieres and more than 8000 performances. Actors Lyudmila Kryuchkova, Margarita Mukhametzhanova, Aleksandr Korzhenko, Larissa Lebedeva and Sergei Matveyev have received the badge of “Madeniet Qairatkeri”. “Kurmet” order has been awarded to the actor Vladimir Ivanenko.
The team has participated in 70 national and international festivals. Obtaining the status of an academic theatre has stimulated actors to work even harder and grow creatively.
“We are inviting the famous Russian masters to train our actors in terms of stage speech, stage movements, we are visiting Russia. All these is done thanks to the state, the mayor’s office of the city, which are paying great attention to the development of culture in the country”, – said the Director of the Theater, the Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerkin Khassenov.
