Labor Ministry considers increasing minimum wage
Deputy Minister of National Economy Ruslan Dalenov spoke about the comprehensive work to increase the incomes of the population.
According to him, work is done in three areas. The first is the issue of increasing the minimum wage.
Today it is 28 thousand tenge. Various options are considered: by several percent, and by a factor of 1.5. This is being discussed in the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, he told reporters after a meeting in the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament on low salaries.
The second important aspect, according to the Ministry, is the promotion of business activity. According to the Deputy Minister, the more enterprises, the richer the business, the more it can pay salaries to its employees.
The third direction is countering shadow economy. This part includes not only the development of sanctions, but also stimulation.
We are considering various measures, down to a reduction in taxes on that part of the turnover, which was made with the help of bank cards. The introduction of tax bonuses for paying with cards is considered. And these bonuses could be used to pay the tax on transport, on property. Many trading companies go into the shadows, because at high turnover they are forced to become VAT payers – this is an additional 12% on turnover. We consider the proposal to withdraw non-cash turnover from the limits, that is, the card turnover should not be taken into account when determining whether it is necessary for them to be a VAT payer or not, R. Dalenov explained.
