KZT 6 bn allocated to co-financing of research projects additionaly
Vice Minister Aslanbek Armin said about priority directions of development of science.
“The results of contests, on-line reports, news, discussions, contact details are available on the official web-site of the MES Science Committee. This was done to ensure the public access to full and transparent information”, Mr. Armin said.
According to the Vice Minister, the funding of projects of the domestic scientists is carried out under two laws – “On Science” and “On the commercialization of R&D results”.
“The project “Promoting productive innovation” was launched by the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan jointly with the World Bank in 2016. 24 projects worth 5.4 billion tenge were selected, of which 7% – 371 million tenge was attracted from the business. The Science Foundation selected 31 projects amounting to 5.8 million tenge in 2016, of which 8%, or 485 million tenge was attracted on the part of the business”, Mr. Armin added.
According to the MES data, Kazakhstan will co-finance up to 90% of project cost, at a time when Singapore – not more than 50%.
