Kyrgyzstan, UAE discuss co op in education sphere
A meeting of leadership of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Education and Science and rectors of Kyrgyz universities with a delegation from the United Arab Emirates took place in Bishkek yesterday, Jan.10.
The UAE delegation was headed by Minister of Education Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, the press service of the Kyrgyz Education Ministry said.
At the meeting, the sides discussed the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Education Ministries of the two countries, which was signed during the official visit of Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov to the Emirates on Dec. 12, 2019.
The meeting participants also discussed the development of educational and scientific relations between educational organizations and research institutes of the two countries, including exchange of experience, academic mobility, formation of joint research teams.
In addition, the parties focused on the organization of scientific and educational weeks through lectures, symposiums, exhibitions, book fairs.
It was proposed to create a Resource Center on the basis of one of the universities of Kyrgyzstan, as well as to allocate grant places for training of Kyrgyzstanis in the UAE universities.
The UAE delegation arrived in Kyrgyzstan on Jan.9, 2020.
President Jeenbekov held meeting with the delegation’s members, where views were exchanged on current directions and prospects of bilateral cooperation between the countries.
