Kyrgyzstan to participate in annual meeting of CA deputy FMs in Tashkent
Delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic, headed by Kyrgyzstan’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Nuran Niyazaliyev, will participate in the annual meeting of ministers of foreign affairs of Central Asian states, to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Dec.14, the press service of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Tashkent reported.
The event’s agenda includes an analysis of domestic regional and cross-border challenges and threats to stability and security, as well as a discussion of new opportunities for the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) to further support the countries of Central Asia within the Centre’s mandate and Action Plan for 2018-2020.
The session is expected to provide an opportunity for participants to exchange views on the dynamics of the peace and security situation in the wider region, and on the potential for enhanced cooperation and preventive efforts between Central Asia and Afghanistan, with possible support from UNRCCA and UNAMA.
The event will be attended by Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General/Head of UNRCCA Natalia Gherman, and Director of Europe and Central Asia Division, Departments of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs and Peace Operations of UN Secretariat Levent Bilman.
The goal of the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) is to assist and support the governments of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in building their conflict prevention capacities through enhanced dialogue, confidence building measures and establishing genuine partnership in order to respond to existing threats and emerging challenges in the Central Asian region.
